About Steve Moran’s Inspiration for his artwork was his father Jim Moran. He was a Commercial Artist from Waldwick, NJ. When Steve was just six years old he sold his first painting to an art gallery. This fueled his desire to continue his artwork for years to come. After two decades of apprenticeship under his father, Steve started a home based company; SM Custom Airbrushing. Steve has won countless awards, winning 1st place in 1997 for his editorial illustration on Tiny Tim in Airbrush Action’s International competition. Steve has also won numerous awards for his automotive masterpieces in the Chrysler Nationals and other prestigious motorcycle and car competitions. In 2002 he moved his home based company SM Custom Airbrushing into his own studio in Lyndhurst, NJ. After years of experience Steve was asked to become an instructor for Airbrushing Action magazine. After contributing his talents for many years to Airbrush Action, Steve sought out to find an apprentice and pass on his knowledge to help expand his company and continue the legacy that is SM Custom Airbrushing.
